Welcome. The Aurora is a non-profit collective of scholars, with a strong emphasis on hard science, without ever losing the tenderness of the humanities, nor losing our humanity itself. Science & technology are human endeavors that start with people, individually and collectively choosing what to do and where to go, researching and creating the tools to achieve that goal, accomplishing it, and rethinking their impact in their own existence. In different times through history parts of this process were automated to out advantage; for the first time large statistical models that can manipulate our languages are causing us to question the value of our own knowledge. We are here to show that humans still drive every step of the process, are in charge, and are accountable for every tool applied.
We are Scientists. We believe science is an essential tool for humanity to discover the world and develop technology to solve existing problems and change the course of the evolution of our society. Nevertheless, academia is only a part of society -- real change happens in the real world, where disciplines meet -- as interdisciplinary scientists we have built connections between scientific fields, and ultimately beyond them, bringing the rigor of scientific research to real practice and application, where it has most impact. Caetano co-founded Aurora Collective Intelligence as the person in charge of making that vision concrete and structuring the processes to achieve the collective's mission.
Our credentials are backed by real work in top organizations. Since the collective's creation, we have consulted for some of the largest pharma companies in hard implementations of AI/ML technonologies, like Large Language Model-powered Agents and complex Machine Learning pipelines, that required deep understanding of the organizational processes, data pipelines, to code and deliver results and tools to improve their existing processes. We have also provided several training sessions integrating inhenrently and irreplaceable human traints like critical & reflective thinking with the scientific method and modern computational tools that are increasingly part not only of scientific research, but of every professional's workflow. In addition to short-from workshops, our offerings include co-faciliated trainings as part of the curricula of accredited universities and graduate schools in the United States and Europe.
The people behind the collective are actually front and center. Caetano is an established Ph.D. Scientist & Statistical Modeler who has dedicated his career to develop a philosophy of scienctific practice that integrated theory and computational models into research and problem solving. Ana has bridged wet lab practice from her Ph.D. and postdoc with human interaction, as form to develop better, healthier work environments. Daniel has dug through so many different kinds of data and methods to understand with complex systems, with an incredibel ability to retain a very human sensibility with respect to the process within and beyond institutional walls. Yogi is Caetano's former academic mentor and conitnues to be, now also as an advisor to Aurora Collective's project, and as a collaborator, developping an entire philosophical perspectival approach to science and technology, on which the collective draws constantly.
What we like most is to discuss new ideas, so we'd rather talk than pitch. Book a free introductory meeting, no strings attached.
